Fellowships at New England Foot & Ankle Specialists

The goal of the fellowship is to provide extensive exposure to the complete spectrum of foot & ankle disorders. The Fellow will receive in-depth training in non-operative and operative care of traumatic, degenerative, sports, rheumatoid and diabetic foot & ankle problems. AO methods are utilized to provide rigid fixation of the foot & ankle.

The fellow will learn from active participation in the preoperative, intra-operative and postoperative management of patients. The fellow will participate in a schedule of lectures, grand rounds, journal clubs and research conferences. The fellow will also participate in preparation and presentation of lectures and will be responsible for a minimum of two reports/research projects of publishable quality.

As an added benefit, fellows arriving in late-June can take advantage of Colby College’s two week Orthopaedic Review Course in preparation for Part 1 of the orthopaedic boards.

Application forms are available online and by request. Fellows must be board-eligible or board-certified and must obtain a Maine medical license.

The individual chosen as the 2008- 2009 Fellow should become familiar with "Guidelines for Obtaining Licenses, Credentials and Privileges" in preparation for a lengthy credentialing process. As part of this process, the Maine Physician Application may be downloaded directly from this site.
